Welcome to Westray Chutney, hand made in Westray, Orkney. All our products are made in small batches from our traditional (and some new) recipes, with no preservatives, flavourings or additives and come in 200g jars. All are suitable for vegetarians and for anyone who has a gluten free, dairy free or fat free diet.
This year we have certfication for our new range of Fairtrade chutneys. It has been a long process achieving this certification, but it is worth it knowing that we are now part of growing movement of businesses using ethically sourced ingredients.
You will see from the dropdown menu above that we also supply our own home smoked and cured fish. We also have printable recipes that you can download or it is available to buy as a 32 page A5 recipe book.
If you come and visit Orkney, do try and get over to Westray, where you will be assured of a warm welcome. The ferry takes just 80 minutes from the islands’ capital Kirkwall and you can either drive using our roll-on roll-off ferry or come as a passenger and use the bus up to the village from the ferry terminal.
We have our unit in the village of Pierowall in the north of the island and you can see where we sell our chutneys, fresh fish from the Keila and home smoked fish. On Wednesday and Saturday evenings we are open for freshly fried fish and chips which you can take away or eat on the picnic benches outside, looking out over Pierowall Bay.
We know that you will enjoy our artisan products, wherever you live in the UK.
